When global trade freezes — closed borders, broken capacity, a Friday-night crisis — somebody has to find a way through. For 37 years, that’s been us. Trans-Pro is the Vital Engine behind the flows the economy depends on, and we’re growing the Montréal West Island team.
You run your own book of business inside a 37-year-old platform. You don’t push freight rates; you sell absorbed pressure — the certainty that the shipment moves when everything is going wrong. Multimodal scope: land, air, sea, across Canada, the US, and international lanes.
Responsibilities
- Business development: Prospect, qualify, and close your own clients, then own those relationships from first call to long-term account.
- Market intelligence: Track tariff shifts, capacity crunches, and disruptions, and turn them into wins for your clients.
- Negotiation: Structure and close high-stakes deals where the lowest bidder is usually the one who fails.
- Carrier network: Tap into our 3,000+ vetted carriers from day one and build new partnerships the Trans-Pro way.
- Problem-solving: Handle real-time crises as they hit — stuck shipments, customs friction, weather, mechanical breakdowns.
- Multimodal coordination: Move freight by land, air, and sea across Canada, the US, and international lanes.
Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years in B2B sales or business development (preferred); experience in logistics, freight, or third-party logistics (3PL) is an asset.
- Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; comfortable with prospecting, cold calling, and meeting performance targets (KPIs).
- Qualities: Self-motivated, organized, and able to perform well under pressure.
- Languages: Proficiency in English, spoken and written; knowledge of French and Spanish is an asset.
